What customers say?

“ Went here for lunch and ordered the sashimi & nigiri omakase. I love that it came out with smoke! Also got the uni udon pasta (a must if you’re into creamy, rich flavors) cucumber sunomono for something light and refreshing, and ended with the mochi cake + ice cream The space is cute, not too loud. Definitely one of my fave Japanese spots in WeHo ”

“ This is such a special spot that deserves so much attention! Although not everything is "perfect", my dinner was an amazing experience that definitely makes me want to return. The two girls working as hostesses/waitresses are super sweet and the chefs I interacted with are so friendly and fun! I ordered an assortment of items starting off with the tuna pressed sushi. I think each component is very well done - the tuna is fresh, rice is nice, and the yuzu citrus sauce is tasty. But the sauce was a bit overpowering for the roll as a whole and diminished the flavor of the tuna and rice. The crispy rice spicy tuna came out piping hot and crispy, a nice scoop of spicy tuna, and good flavor. Now for those skewers. WOW. The tsukune or meatballs were OUTSTANDING. I could've eaten 10 of those things. And the sauce with the egg yolk was chefs kiss. My other plate with the assortment were all executed well. The short rib was juicy and flavorful, the pork belly tender and soft, chicken was juicy and the chicken heart though a bit tough, had great flavor. Overall, I'd love to come back again ”

“ If you’re looking for the best Izakaya experience in West Hollywood, Izakaya Tora is the hidden gem you must try before you leave WeHo. This place perfectly blends traditional Japanese flavors with modern creativity — from the freshest sashimi to beautifully grilled skewers. Every dish feels intentional, balanced, and crafted with care. Omakase Sashimi – fresh, buttery, and served with applewood smoke (so good you’ll forget your problems). UNI Pasta – creamy, rich, and topped with Santa Barbara uni, tobiko & caviar. Umami bomb Skewers – tiger shrimp, pork belly, chicken skin, seabass… every bite perfection. The warm, welcoming vibe makes it even better — perfect for a cozy date night or a small group dinner. If you haven’t tried Izakaya Tora yet… you haven’t truly experienced West Hollywood dining. ”

“ Had wonderful experience with all the staff being kind, food quality the best, and the mood. The food quality was the best from all the sushi place I've been to and the cheff himself explained the ingredients as he served the food for us. They have special ingredients and fish type that not all other regular Izakaya would serve you. This is definitely a go to place with your lover, family, or even with friends. I will definitely go back every time I crave for sushi. ”

“ A night at Izakaya Tora in West Hollywood is all about slowing down and savoring. We started with their silky uni pasta, then indulged in an unforgettable spread of premium sushi and sashimi—the uni melted like butter, the toro was rich and buttery, and every slice of fish was fresh, clean, and full of flavor. Of course, no izakaya visit is complete without skewers—so we shared yakitori favorites: tender beef, crispy chicken skin, savory pork belly, and the standout miso Chilean sea bass. Whether you’re a sushi purist or just love discovering new flavors, this spot is a must-visit for your next night out in WeHo. ”

“ Easily one of the best sushi spots I've been to. Everything was fresh and full of flavor -- especially the toro, uni, and yakitori. Loved the homemade okonomiyaki too. Great service, generous portions, and reasonable prices. Highly recommend making a reservation. Will definitely be back! ”

“ This place has been my Japanese go-to in WeHo area lately. Whether it be after a hike at Runyon or decent dinner during day drinking fest at WeHo or before a night out in WeHo. The quality is great and the portions are huge! Also they definitely don't skimp out of the sushi fish and they always try something special like aburi method for specific nigiri/sashimi cuts to their square sushi (think musubi but sushi rolls). Moreover if you are not feeling raw fish, I love their udon and nabe dishes. And you can make you own meal as well. You can order some apps like eggplant and gyoza or salad and karage for a light meal instead of ordering entrees. The service is always great and the place is always clean and efficient! ”

“ Stopped by here for its melt-in-your-mouth uni bowl, quite fresh and tasty, mix the rice and uni, and roll them within the seaweed, make your own hand roll. Great experience and wanted to come back for sure. Around $70 per person. Parking wise, we happened to get a street parking spot near by. $2 per hour. ”
